Happy Spring Equinox

In TCM philosophy, the Spring Equinox marks the beginning of the Wood Element's cycle within the Five Element Theory. This element symbolizes growth, renewal, and vitality. The energy of the liver and gallbladder is particularly active during the spring season. This means it's an ideal time for cleansing, renewal, and rejuvenation. Just as the earth awakens from its winter slumber, so too does our body's energy, known as Qi, stir and rise, preparing us for the active and expansive energy of spring 🌱

🌿 When the Wood Element is in harmony, we experience clarity of vision, flexibility in decision-making, and a sense of purpose. However, imbalances can manifest as irritability, frustration, or stagnation.

🍋Incorporating seasonal foods like leafy greens, sprouts, and sour foods can help support the liver's natural detoxification processes during the spring. It’s about time to start squeezing a bit of lemon into your (room temp) water. Lemon is renowned for its cleansing properties, aiding the liver in detoxification.

🌼 Herbal remedies such as dandelion root and milk thistle are commonly used in TCM to support liver health and aid in soothing liver Qi.

🧘 Incorporate yoga poses that involve twisting, such as seated spinal twists or Revolved Triangle Pose (Parivrtta Trikonasana). These poses stimulate the liver and gallbladder meridians, helping to release tension and stagnant energy while promoting detoxification and renewal.
